As you know, in addition to the upcoming presidential election, there are numerous local, state and national elections coming up this year. If you haven’t already registered to vote or if you’ve recently moved, now would be a good time to verify your voter registration, and either register or update your information so that you’ll be ready to vote for your favorite candidate or issues.

Using our “Voter Records and Elections Information” website, you can access links to online voter registration records by state.  Most states will have links at the state, county and city level.  Here is how to start the search for your voter registration.

1. Using our “Free Public Records Search Directory” website, choose “Voter and Elections Information” link under “Search Public Records by Type of Record.”  Choosing this category will take you to our main “Voter Records and Elections Information” page.

2. On the main “Voter Records” page, choose your specific state.  Using Nevada, as an example, you will access numerous state, county, and city voter and election links on the “Nevada Voter and Elections Information Directory” page.

3. Click on Nevada’s Statewide “Voter Registration Search” to access your personal registration information by name, date of birth and either Nevada driver’s license number or social security number.  You can register to vote online and also check  your registration for any necessary changes.  This “Election Center” page also offers links to:

  • Information on Voting (How and Where to Vote and Absentee Voting)
  • Election Information (Campaign Finance Reports)
  • Information for Candidates (How to File for Office and Election Calendar)
  • Political Parties (Qualified Political Parties and Action Committees)
  • Initiative Petitions (Current Petitions and Initiative Procedures)
  • Election Results (Results by Precinct)

4. Return to the main “Nevada Voter and Elections Information Directory” page by clicking on “Return to Results” in the upper right hand corner of the page.  Scroll down the main “Nevada Voter” page to access other county or city links.  For instance, Washoe County provides a “Voter Registration Search” by last name and birth date.  When you are through with your research, you can click on “Nevada Voter” in the upper left hand corner of the page to return to the main “Nevada Voter” page.

5. To access other types of public records, you can click on “Home” in the upper left hand corner of the page.  The main “Free Public Records Search Directory” page contains links to a wide variety of public records and useful municipal websites.

In addition to checking your voter registration, there are numerous voter and election related links on our website such as absentee voting, polling locations, election maps, election results, campaign finance, and more.  Watch for future articles on our blog regarding other election related subjects including how to access campaign finance reports.
